WARDOGS Artillery Guide: The SPH-2 and Indirect Fire
Updated 2026-09-25
The quick answer
The SPH-2 is WARDOGS' self-propelled howitzer — the game's dedicated indirect-fire artillery platform. It exists, it is in the vehicle roster, and detailed numbers (shell damage, range, price, unlock) are not yet confirmed by the community — the page exists so you know what is real and what is still being tested.
What artillery is for in WARDOGS
WARDOGS' headline mode is Control Zone: hold zones, earn 1 point per 30 seconds, first faction to 100 wins (official FAQ rules). Indirect fire shapes that mode:
- Zone denial — shelling a contested zone forces defenders to spread or relocate
- Anti-FOB work — player-built positions are static targets; artillery is the natural counter (see the FOB building guide)
- Logistics pressure — shelling supply routes punishes cargo runs
Honest status
Specifics the community has not published verified numbers for yet:
- Shell damage / blast radius
- Maximum range and minimum range
- Purchase price and unlock level
- Ammo capacity and resupply mechanics
We will fill these in as tested numbers appear in the community — with sources. For the adjacent verified numbers we do have, see the mortar guide (mortar is infantry-portable indirect fire, distinct from the SPH-2).
